The Watchman

The Watchman

Watching, listening.
From the ancient past, witnessing.
The dark days of Man’s mortal damning.
To that hour,
His glorious redeeming.
~ D.F.

“The God of our ancestors raised Jesus, though you had him killed by hanging him on a tree.”
~ Acts 5:30

Mene Tekel Peres

The Visitation

Slow may be His writing,
But its meaning is clear,
“MENE, TEKEL, PERES!”
Your visitation draws near.

*************

Regarding Belshazzar, the Chaldean king:

“MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it;
TEKEL, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting;
PERES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”

~ Daniel 5:25-28

Yield

Yield

His warning is fair,
What little talent, show yield,
Lest all become forfeit,
Your fate, sealed.
~ D.F.

*************

“I tell you, to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
~ Luke 19:26

Ruin

The Host

His gaze drawing,
Bewitching, his prose.
His creed, beguiling,
This dark and gentle host.
Yet, his desire is your falling,
Warming him most,
The smile now withers,
Ruined, the rose.
~ D.F.

*************

“For some have already turned away to follow Satan.”

~ 1 Timothy 5:15
