Persistent guests, these little flies,
Balmy weather, how they burst to life.
Oh, quick be gone, seek another clime,
Yet presence hailing, tis summer time!

Old Dog
From days of spring, to the wintery cold,
Beating faint, a heart of purest gold.
Eyes old, dimming, just one desire warming,
To lay by his master, watch the sun slowly sleeping.

No Way!
Old days forever banished, no trace,
Since this little one came to stay,
He moves, at blazing pace,
And as to rest? “No way!”

Mene Tekel Peres
Slow may be His writing,
But its meaning is clear,
“MENE, TEKEL, PERES!”
Your visitation draws near.
*************
Regarding Belshazzar, the Chaldean king:
“MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it;
TEKEL, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting;
PERES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
~ Daniel 5:25-28
Heavenly
Perhaps this little bee can give us a glimpse of heaven?
***
Bursting with life,
not barely,
Ever so busy,
yet not fretting,
One at home,
Hearts resting.
“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”
~ St Augustine of Hippo

Mel (1997-2012)
One year on since Our Lord desired you by His side.
In Heaven now and yet with us, in ashes and spirit.
Our guardian angel and first child, how can there ever be another.
Stay with us still, this is your home.
Come, son, it’s time for another walk together.
Love,
Mummy and Daddy
Flight
Nothing quite says “Freedom” as a bird in flight.

Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea. So British. So civil. So perfect on a lazy Saturday.
Especially after an hour in the bubble bath with my twin boys.
Life doesn’t get any better than this 🙂
Fur Ball Days
It’s not only for the cats!
All of us have our fur ball days, filled to the brim with little trials and irritations.
Even this little bee has to deal with its fair share while striving towards its goal, the sweet nectar.
Wretched!
When the wretched cannot catch the bird, he in desperation tries to burn the cage.
~ St John Vianney
