Persistent guests, these little flies,
Balmy weather, how they burst to life.
Oh, quick be gone, seek another clime,
Yet presence hailing, tis summer time!

Snowflakes
Snowflakes
***********
His graces though many, quiet, unseen,
The tiniest snowflakes, only eyes keen.
No two graces alike, each for you made.
The gentlest kiss, how modest the fade.

Innocent
Deeply steeped in winter’s hold,
All hint of sin covered by snow.
But white fades, soon all expose,
Sweet innocence or guilt on show.

Morning Star
The dark hours, ever deepening,
Winter chill, heart gripping,
Yet shiny orb, gently warming,
The Morning Star, dawn awaking.

“I am the root and offspring of David, the bright morning star.”

I have been informed by a young botany enthusiast that this flower is a Pigeon Orchid (Dendrobium crumenatum). Thanks, Isaac!
No Way!
Old days forever banished, no trace,
Since this little one came to stay,
He moves, at blazing pace,
And as to rest? “No way!”

Mene Tekel Peres
Slow may be His writing,
But its meaning is clear,
“MENE, TEKEL, PERES!”
Your visitation draws near.
*************
Regarding Belshazzar, the Chaldean king:
“MENE, God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it;
TEKEL, you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting;
PERES, your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
~ Daniel 5:25-28
The Rainbow Tree
Autumn leaves come alive,
Oddly in tropical clime.
School children walking by,
A warm spectrum upon them shines.
For like this tree,
God deemed it right,
Creating these kids
with special needs and likes.
So with a kinder eye,
Look beyond and deep,
Rainbows stir us to life!
When our tired senses fall asleep.

I have never seen this tree in autumn colours until yesterday November 13 just after midday. It is located on the sidewalk near the visitors’ entrance to the Rainbow Centre at Margaret Drive, Singapore, a school dedicated to the care of children with special needs including those with autistic spectrum disorder (Do visit their homepage at http://www.rainbowcentre.org.sg).

The memory of morning
seemed lost,
For the war must run its terrible course.
But now, with the sun miraculously rising,
Reveal those hearts,
who have kept the faith,
That darkness failed to kill their burning.

Note:
The Armistice that ended hostilities in World War I went into effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, 1918.
The end of the war was foretold by Our Lady in her apparitions at Fatima, Portugal.
These apparitions ended 13 months earlier on October 13, 1917 with some 70,000 people witnessing the Miracle of the Sun (http://danfrugalberg.com/2013/10/12/miracle-of-the-sun/).
Rising Star
Why stand awed by the stars of the night,
Light from ancient bodies now demised?
Ponder instead about
that child on your lap,
Nesting warmly against your neck.
For even as he quietly slumbers,
This star is alive!
He rises with every passing hour.

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

Beyond The Trees
As with the morning dew,
Glimmering in the sun,
Until the earth, a kiss,
We sink, yet rise
High, beyond the trees.
~ D.F.
*************
“For the whole world before you is as the least grain of the balance, and as a drop of the morning dew, that falls down upon the earth:
But you have mercy upon all, because you can do all things, and overlook the sins of men for the sake of repentance.”
~ Wisdom 11:22-23
