Snowflakes
***********
His graces though many, quiet, unseen,
The tiniest snowflakes, only eyes keen.
No two graces alike, each for you made.
The gentlest kiss, how modest the fade.

Charred
========
A char along the edges,
Be not too distraught,
The Lord gently chastising,
His goal, your soul restored.
So in this blight, take pride,
Wound inflicted and healed,
It is only those deemed worthy,
That in mercy, He so deals.
~ D.F.
From days of spring, to the wintery cold,
Beating faint, a heart of purest gold.
Eyes old, dimming, just one desire warming,
To lay by his master, watch the sun slowly sleeping.
~ D.F.
At dawn, the petals peeling,
Dusk, well deserved resting.
The Lord labours, ever softly,
Life’s routines,
Gentle,
Holy.
~ D.F.
The world and its grand illusions,
Tales of glamour, pristine facade,
The blessed truth, to be realised,
True beauty lies in with the mud.

Like a Child
=•=•=•=•=•=•=
Have you found again that treasure,
All forsaking, to possess?
Feel quiet embers fan back to life,
Become like a child again.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
~ Matthew 13:44
Tough Life
===========
The days of comfort far behind,
Banished to harsh, stony clime.
When Hope, its cup runneth dry,
Life yet thrives amidst the grind.
~ D.F.
The Lord has worked his miracle,
Five loaves, two fish, 5,000 feed*.
But a greater feat, He must summon,
Forty youngsters in class to teach!
~ D.F.
*To all teachers of the young: You guys work miracles daily! Thank you 🙂

*The Feeding of the Five Thousand. John 6:1-14
So lowly, the child with special needs,
His young days often dark, so bleak,
But faith keeping, the Mother most meek,
Whose own Son did die, yet rose from his sleep.
~ D.F.

Newborn

The hour is quietly slipping,
Tomorrow takes to the stage.
What gifts greet the newborn,
Our good or our sad mistakes?
