A walk into the country side, where fields and flowers grow,
Air, so ever wholesome, feel the earth between our toes.
Rolling back to distant times, when life moved oh so slow,
Where simple virtues were extolled, and hearts, a quiet glow.
As this father was quick to learn, no family is quite complete without its Mother.
Be as the little child
Who is always fully present in the moment,
Fretting not over the future or
Made weary by memories past
Secure in the knowledge of his inheritance.
“Unless you change and become like little children, you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven”
~ Matthew 18:3
Children’s Day 4 October 2013
Nothing quite says “Freedom” as a bird in flight.
Jesus was a child with a most special need.
He needed a mother, full of grace.
Gazing upon Mary and living with her, he, who is Grace itself can see and learn his true nature, reflected from another person.
In this, He is truly like us in every way except sin, for children start to learn about themselves by imitating their parents.
“And the angel being come in, said unto her:
Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said to her:
Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.
Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.
And of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
~ Luke 1:26-33
“Work is man’s original vocation. It is a blessing from God, and those who consider it a punishment are sadly mistaken.”
~ St. Josemaria Escriva, Furrow, no. 482
Come away to that quiet place
Deep inside your soul,
Where you can be still and
Find rest from all your labour and woe.
