O how they creep upon you, their tiny hands and feet!
All toothy grin and laughing, the world, a wondrous treat.
For now the bedroom, sleeping, at last, the day, retreat,
My love, these little munchkins! Angels and monsters meet.😃
String of hearts so woven, pledge of love and care,
Precious gems to cherish, which other bids compare?
Blessing from the Almighty, whose very nature share,
Man, what joy fulfilling! His wife and children fair.
“Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house, Your children like olive plants around your table.”
~ Psalm 128:3
Spirit quite unbridled, he’s shorter than he seems,
Slow is the world around him, quick ahead he steams.
Ideas none too bold for him; his mind, no prison holds,
Reaching the moon, so easy a task! My boy simply stands tiptoe.
That day in heaven, at last, all will meet,
But long is the wait, reunion incomplete.
Take care then, your loved ones to keep,
Precious hours beckon, the eternal sleep.
The lapping of the waves,
The music of the stars,
The call of birds and beasts,
Resounding near and far.
Yet what ruled His ears and heart,
So precious to behold,
Strains of sweet affection,
“My father, my papa!”
From days of spring, to the wintery cold,
Beating faint, a heart of purest gold.
Eyes old, dimming, just one desire warming,
To lay by his master, watch the sun slowly sleeping.
Neither hoards of silver or gold,
Or the conquest of peoples and land.
The finest treasure surely to hold,
A walk with my pippins, hand in hand.
Pippin: An apple. In this case, my wife and kids who are the apple of my eye 🙂
Old days forever banished, no trace,
Since this little one came to stay,
He moves, at blazing pace,
And as to rest? “No way!”
Kindly in her youth.
Giving in her decay.
The passing of a dame.
Only through Faith can the spiritual child within us be raised back to life and thus enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
To Jairus’ daughter who had died:
Jesus took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).
Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.
