Grant me LORD, serenity, find,
The cool and calm, both heart and mind.
Let every thought, no worries bind,
And the spoken word, a blessing, kind.

City of Light
Halo
His laughter brings the sunshine, air around Him brisk,
Threading ever lightly, the scent of fresh earth kiss.
Flowers humbly bowing, see the Holy in their midst,
Nature, His praises singing, behold, the Prince of Peace.

“Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice”
~ Psalm 96:11
Lullaby
Darkness gently drawing, pelting of the rain,
Soft the forest music, call to a higher plane.
Sleep, then deeply dreaming, calm to soothe the pain,
Air, its fragrance seeping; Love, its sweet refrain.
~ D.F.
Campfire
White the embers, glowing bright,
Dark of sin, consumed this night.
Life’s misgivings, now set aright,
Peace renewing, most sacred rite.
~ D.F.
Fallen
Wrath of nations rising, grave, the war drums pound,
Brother against brother, the earth in red blood drowns.
Stir us from this madness! Angels, your trumpets sound,
Arouse the seeds of mercy, see the valiant fall to ground.
~ D.F.
Hideaway
Gentle breeze, soft music plays,
Warm sunlight, His gift of day.
Be still then, this quiet place,
Your soul’s much needed hideaway.
~ D.F.

Jesus said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
~ Mark 6:31
New Home
Rough the terrain, hard the ground,
The wild thrashing all around.
Is this harsh land, to be new home?
The scent of distant flowers…
At peace.
Shalom.
