Phoenix

Phoenix

Trodden down, by those deemed fair,
If He had perished, who would care?
The One rejected, yet uncommon flair,
Riding the clouds, ascending the air!
~ D.F.

*************
“When He had said this, as they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight.”
~ Acts 1:9

Gordian Knots

Gordian Knots

Trudging high mountains to the valleys, dark below,
Where breath grows thin and courage flees to cold,
Draw warmly then to our sweet Lord, beware to lose Him not,
Grasp that hand with sure faith!
He will loosen life’s Gordian knots.
~ D.F.

Flaw

Flaw

Into His courts, come enter, low and humble, unadorned,
Embellishments not desired, a simple heart, He’s fond.
At His side, then marvel, drink His wisdom, learn His laws,
How death through love was conquered, banished, our fatal flaw.
~ D.F.

Stitch

Stitch

Drawn from every quarter, on the rack, this life,
Slow and sure, He stretches, our sinew, thin and fine.
Til the point of tearing, ah, wounding of our pride,
A stitch, poor ego mended, nature by trial, refine.
~ D.F.

*************
“For He wounds, but He binds up; He strikes, but his hands give healing.”
~ Job 5:18

Lazy Me

Lazy Me

Waves catching sunlight, gently yields the wind,
Out in the lazy waters, soaking in the sea.
Earthly cares releasing, shores of mortality,
Distant voices fading, now, just my God and me.
~ D.F.

Dopamine

Dopamine

We await the chosen hour, when He shall come again,
Our faith, justly rewarded, a home in heaven stay.
Yet lest these souls be fainting, weary mortals fray,
In mercy, grace releasing, dopamine* to tide this day.
~ D.F.
